TPC-E

TPC Benchmark™ E (TPC-E) is a new On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) workload being developed by the TPC. The TPC-E benchmark simulates the OLTP workload of a brokerage firm. The focus of the benchmark is the central database that executes transactions related to the firm’s customer accounts. Although the underlying business model of TPC-E is a brokerage firm, the database schema, data population, transactions, and implementation rules have been designed to be broadly representative of modern OLTP systems.

EGen is a TPC provided software package designed to facilitate the implementation of TPC-E. EGen provides:

consistent data generation independent of the underlying environment
transaction and frame flow control management
project build and makefile templates

A draft version of the TPC-E specification and EGen have been approved by the TPC for public release and review.

Submitting Comments
The deadline for submitting comments is July 30th, 2006. The process for submitting comments is:

Go to the Spec Comment page.
Click on the name of the document that you would like to submit comments for in the 'Current TPC Spec Reviews' Table
Click on 'Add New Comment'
Enter a descriptive header line for your comment
Enter you name
Enter the name of your company
Enter your E-mail address
Select a classification for your comment
Select a clause from the pull down menu
Enter a detailed description of your comment/suggestion/etc.
Enter the affected clauses
If appropriate enter the proposed word change.
Click on Submit - a Comment-Id will be assigned to this comment. You will be re-directed to the 'Add New Comment' page and you can either enter a new comment (e.) or return to the Review Summary page.
